On Friday 6th December, our Rainbows, Brownies and Guides girls are performing in a Christmas play. This year, the show will be The Wizard of Oz.
L. Frank Baum’s magical tale follows Dorothy Gale, a young girl who finds herself lost in the whimsical land of Oz, desperately wanting to return home to her beloved Auntie Em and Uncle Henry. She meets new friends who join her on her journey but she will ever make it back to Kansas? Come along to see this delightful tale and enjoy the famous songs, quotes and charm of the classic film.
The show will begin at 6pm and will finish no later than 7pm. The cost will be £2 and this will include refreshments with children below the age of ten will go free. For parents of our regular girls, this will include the usual fees.
There will also be a tombola and a raffle with all money raised going right back into the Rainbows, Brownies and Guides funds for the future. We hope to see as many people as possible support this festive event!
Every December, our Autumn Club go for a Christmas lunch to celebrate the festive season together. This year we are heading to The Strand in Blackpool and are certain to have a lovely time once again. The date is Wednesday 11th December and more details will be listed here on our website.
We are holding our annual Halloween disco later this month and would love to see some of you there, hopefully decked in scary costumes! The date is Tuesday 29th October and will be from 6pm until 8pm (the usual youth group hours). Please note that there will be no Girls’ Craft Group on this night. Fancy Dress is not essential but is encouraged as it’s a fun part of celebrating Halloween. Usual youth groups subs will be charged but food will – as ever – be included in that small price. So we shall see/scare you there!
Please remember that subs are now £1.50 and that every penny raised goes straight back into youth group funds for materials, food, trips, craft etc.
We are delighted to announce that our 2013 Summer Fair raised £650. The event took place on 7th July and was well attended on what turned out to be a glorious day (proved by our staff members’ sunburn!). We’d like to thank everybody who came along, donated prizes or helped our event in any way. We are extremely grateful. Your efforts help run our centre and we truly appreciate your help. Thank you!
