Upcoming youth group events

Hello!
Hope you’re all enjoying the sunshine!
A little reminder for all of our wonderful youth group members and parents, please don’t forget that we have our next bagpacking is at Morrisons in Morecambe on Sunday 3rd May. If you (or your child) can help, please get in touch with us and let us know. You can call the centre, text Kerry or message our Facebook page…there are lots of ways to get in touch!
Our recent bagpacking sessions have proved lucrative thanks to the hard work of young people and every penny earned goes straight into our fund for the residential trip this summer.

As you can see, this is a very busy time for us! Don’t forget: we have our bowling trip next Tuesday 28th (6pm) and our fundraising bike ride is on Tuesday 19th May (4.45pm) and that’s in addition to our bagpacking.

If ever you’re unsure of any dates, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Thank you very much!

News update

Hello there once again!

We’d like to give you an update on events here at the community centre. It has been a busy time for us, as ever! We had a fantastic trip to Dalton Zoo earlier in November with the junior youth group. Our Autumn Club have been away to Bury Market and are looking forward to another trip to the market in time for Christmas. Our advertised coffee morning in aid of MacMillan Cancer raised a wonderful £122.00 for a very worthy cause. Thank you to everyone who contributed and donated.

With eyes looking to the future, we have several events coming up over the festive season. We have a family bingo fundraising night on Tuesday 16th December here at the centre. Funds raised will go towards the residential trip for our youth groups next summer. We have been lucky to book an extremely exciting new venue for our 2015 residential trip which will include lots of fun, popular and new activities for our young people. It will cost more than any of our previous excursions but as a staff, we feel it is worth it and that the children will really, really enjoy it. Incidentally, that will also be the date our youth group break up for Christmas and we will return on Tuesday 6th January 2015.

Our junior youth group will also be going to see the local pantomime performance at Lancaster Grand Theatre. This year’s choice is Aladdin and we’ll be enjoying the show just before Christmas, as we do every year of course.

The annual Christmas lunch for our popular Autumn Club group will take place on Wednesday 10th December at the Auckland Hotel in Morecambe.

So the dates for your diary are as follows:

Wednesday 10th December – Autumn Club Christmas lunch

Tuesday 16th December – Christmas Family Bingo Night (6pm)

Monday 22nd December – Christmas pantomime youth group trip (7.30pm)

Bagpacking in Morrison’s

On Saturday 8th February, our junior youth group will be packing shopping bags at the Morrison’s supermarket in Morecambe in a bid to raise money for this summer’s residential trip. All contributions will go straight into the trip’s funds and so we hope to raise as much as possible. Exact times will be confirmed at a later date.

Christmas Time!

Hello there everybody and Seasons Greetings to you! We have been busy bees here at SCC. Our youth group went to see a marvellous performance of ‘A Christmas Carol’ at The Dukes Theatre in Lancaster. The show will run until 4th January 2014 so if you haven’t seen it yet, do check out the details of the play which can be found here. The children really enjoyed the show and I think the adults did too!

The Rainbows, Brownies and Guides’ performance of The Wizard of Oz was a big success! The girls did very well in capturing the magic of Oz so congratulations to every one of our little stars! Thank you also to the parents who supported and/or attended the show.merry-christmas-santa

Disco Fun

Hello again everybody! We hope you all had a wonderful and safe Bonfire Night, whatever you got up to. We also hope you enjoyed a scarily exciting Halloween. Here at the Centre, we had a busy Halloween disco and were pleased to see so many costumes on show (both terrifying and creative). A good time was had by all who attended and we’d like to thank all the children who came along to join in the fun.
